We’re looking for an Analyst to join our Insights & Strategy team in Los Angeles. The Analyst will work to help our clients – movie studios, broadcasters, gaming companies, and brands - develop strategies to grow their social video presence using Tubular’s product suite. From development to execution, the ideal candidate will be able to handle running analyses with an eye for insights, leading client engagements and creating high-quality external publications to share with our customers. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of a problem from beginning to end: ability to assess client needs; scope proposals; structure data and methodologies; strategy, analysis and insight development; project implementation; presenting to internal and external stakeholders and elaborating on or defending methodologies. 
  • Collaborate on a number of interesting projects at once
  • Independently and creatively problem solve using equally strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual skills. Initiates brainstorms with supervisor and peers to validate assumptions and hypotheses
  • Constantly innovating with data to develop new metrics and methodologies to meet client needs
  • Exceptional verbal, written and visual communication for both client and internal audiences; Prepare client-ready reports and insights along with in-person presentations at client site
  • Collaborate on a number of interesting projects at once
  • Debug and troubleshoot code in open source software (Zeppelin, Jupyter)
  • Adhere to required team and Tubular processes, such as time tracking

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree from a top tier 4-year college or university. Interested in and preferably has experience in social media and media research.
  • Achievements and 2­-4 years’ experience from a high performing organization (e.g., consulting, high-growth technology company, social media research agency), with at least 1 of those years working in the Media or Brand sector
  • Must have at least two years’ experience in client-facing role
  • Proficient in PowerPoint; talent for the visual display of quantitative and qualitative information is highly desirable
  • Advanced use of Excel, including Pivot tables and advanced analyses; a keen eye on numbers is highly desirable
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to independently pursue hypothesis to discoveries. 
  • Must be well organized with strong attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond to get the job done
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written (including editing and proofing) and especially presentation. The ability to simplify complex analysis into concrete learning and action steps
  • Flexibility, resourcefulness, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and timelines

Preferred:

  • Past use or familiarity with a coding language (including SQL, Python, Pyspark) preferred
  • Advanced use of PowerPoint
  • Proficient use of Tableau
